Medicinal: The boiled leaves are used as a tonic; dyes from the fruit peel are used to prevent hair loss, leaf infusion purifies the blood, relieves liver ailments, is an expectorant and antidiarrheal.

Firewood: Used as fuel.

Wood: It is used in fine furniture, cabinetmaking, sculpture crafts and veneers, also in construction such as beams, joists and roofs.
